Gift Guide For The Host

Tis the season for Christmas Parties, and while we love all the DIY snacks and crafts that are popping up on our FYP, not all of us are crafty or have the time to spend hours in the kitchen making decadent gifts for our hosts.

Don’t get us wrong we still want to show appreciation, and want to add some thought to the gift but perhaps not another box of chocolates here’s what we’ve come up with this year.

If you know the host well — and know their beverage preference this 12 Wines of Christmas from Quails Gate is a great way to get a mixture of wines and then you can split them up among friends/hosts/gift exchanges — a bottle can be paired with a set of glasses, candle, coffee table book, cheese & crackers (bonus points if you can get a gift card so they can make a night of it at another point in time).

Another option is a bottle of liquor with this gorgeous decanter from Indigo — even if they don’t drink alcohol you can mix your own mocktail in it and bring it as a gift or simply pair it with a pair of cozy socks and a book and then it can be a bedside or office water decanter.

We fell in love with these lovely coupe glasses and a set of 4 is a gift in it’s own right, but of course you can go a step above and pair it with a bottle of bubbles, perfect for a new years party, or really any festive gathering!

As we strolled around Indigo we came acrosss this Winter Homes coffee table book, we think it would make for a great conversation & statement piece, and even a element of decor that you can tuck away when spring rolls around and bring out again next year to flip through, given a sense of something new.

Scents can be a very personal choice, so we suggest buying a candle if you know exactly what it is your host likes — and before you send us an eyeroll saying “not another candle” when you gift one a large and elegant and this one it truly is a gift and sets a beautiful ambiance for those cold winter nights adding some warmth and coziness in a living space — making every day worth celebrating. (We personally love the Cardamom Cream)

What would be your choice for hostess gift?
