Mother's Day Gift Guide - 2017

If you didn't know already Mothers Day is on Sunday!

Which means you still have a few days to prepare something, and make it look less last minute. I have curated a list of items that may do the trick?

Out and About:

  • Brunch: My favourites are Alforno, Ladybug Cafe, OEB. This is always appreciated by my mum because having two adult children she doesn't get to spend much quality time with us, this way she gets a few hours of undivided attention.

  • Afternoon Tea: Fairmont, Dove's Nest, Bow Valley Ranche. In our household afternoon tea is a well loved tradition, the Fairmont has a mothers day tea however Dove's Nest is always open for afternoon tea so if this weekend doesn't work you can always enjoy a cozy cuppa (with a lot of food) next week.

  • Paint Nite: These events are always being hosted throughout the city with various paint styles, just pick the painting and the night is yours. (Groupon Link Here)

  • Amborella Floral Studio or Plant Workshop: Whether its a a Peony Arrangement or a Terrarium both locations have fun nights plan with gorgeous results!

  • Skoah facial: A gift that keeps on giving, there is nothing better than glowing skin. A gift card to Skoah is a fun little surprise to open up day of, then she can enjoy it later on and after the facial her skin will feel amazing for days after.

  • Mani/Pedis: Whether you decide to treat her or join in on the relaxation Mani/Pedis are always appreciated. Plus you can do both or one depends on how much pampering your stressed out mama needs.

  • Fitness Class Pass: This may end up being a sensitive gift....so make sure it's something your mama bear would like. In particular I'm thinking yoga classes so she can start and/or end her day off right. If she's into a bit more cardio/active lifestyle perhaps try Barre Belle.

Gifts with Bows:

  • Perfume: (Sephora currently has 3x the points on fragrance)

  • Knit Sweater

  • Handbags: I personally find Matt and Nat great value and timeless pieces. Plus they're vegan for those who are animal conscious.

  • Flowers: I don't have a go - to flower shop, but I know they are always well received, however, I am aware Landeau is a fan favourite.

  • Simply Polished Skincare: A local skincare option for scrubs and other bath necessities.

The Classics:

  • Lipstick/ Beauty: For last minute beauty gifts, I head to Shoppers as they have a little bit of everything, if I am looking for something specific I head towards Sephora.

  • Candles: Nothing better lighting a candle and winding down for the night, you can always find a wide variety from Bath and Body Works or Chapters.

  • Books: Adding to the ambience, once the candle is lite snuggling down with a book is simply bliss.

  • Coffee: Coffee or Tea whatever you please, the perfect mug makes it that much better. I personally prefer Starbucks Coffee, but if tea is what your mama prefers David's tea has a HUGE selection of various teas. If you prefer local I would recommend Rosso, for both tea and coffee options.

    Hopefully I've sparked some inspiration!

    Talk to you friday xo

    Big Love, thebrokeblonde xo
