My First Facial

I’ve been a fan of skincare, not necessarily perfect but I’ve been around the block and I know what my skin likes and what products to use to help my skin look and feel it’s best…more on that later, but I’m still guilty of wearing makeup to bed after long days and I work in a industry where my skin is faced with many different pollutants and raditaion. When Grace from Glow Up Grace asked me if I would be interested in a facial it couldn’t have been a quicker yes!

Originally we plannedto go with the ProSkin60 which is great for any clients especially first timers as it’s customizable to each individual and your needs. Grace sent out a consultation form as we went through Grace suggested I would be a good candidate for dermaplanning as some of my concerns were sun damage, fine lines and aging as dermaplanning targets all of these. She also offeres free consultations so if you’re not sure you can always ask her for advice before you book!

For my particular treatment we started with a double cleanse, using Dermalogica’s pre-cleanse which is one of my absolute favourite cleansers. Then she used the Dermalogica Skin Resurfacing cleanser. After my skin was prepped she used a dermaplanning as it’s more gentle on the skin compared to alcohol making the experience much more comfortable and relaxing.

Once the dermaplanning was complete Grace layered my skin with Hyaluronic Acid Pro Serum followed by the multivitamin power recovery mask.

To set my skin up for the rest of the day, and to end the treatment Grace used the Ultra Calming Mist, Powerbright Pro Serum, Barrier Repair and Invisible Defence SPF 30 with Total Eye Care SPF 50.

One thing I learned is that Tinted SPF is not the same as Makeup with SPF

Here’s what an ideal routine would look like:

AM:

Cleanse, Tone, Serum (think protective elements), Moisturizer, Eye Product and SPF 30+

PM:

Double Cleanse to get off all the grim of the day, Exfoliant 2-3x a week (execpt post dermaplanning), Mask 1x week, Tone. Serum (think repair), Eye Product & Moisturizer.

I want to Thank Grace for this lovely experience and she’s been kind enough to offer you 10% off your next visit using the code HOLLY10.
