It’s no surprise I love travelling and I’ve always loved the idea of a solo holiday, however I get quite anxious visiting a place where I can’t speak the language — last year I made the decision to push myself into trying new things alone, so I looked into booking a Scandinavia tour and then one of my friends said she’d join so we bailed on the tour and made our own which was great, but still managed to stay in my comfort zone by having a friend by my side.

I had another taste of visiting somewhere new where I don’t speak the language when I had a layover in Korea, but was gratefully accompanied by other crew members — but now is the time for my first solo trip!

How It Started:

My friend Holly, @minimalist.mindful.money took herself on a birthday trip last year with this company and she ended up in Bulgaria and it look magical and I knew I wanted to add one of these trips to my bucket list and an opportune time popped up this summer.

Here’s how it works:

First things first the company is Journee and they have both UK and US bases to start your Journey!

To begin you fill out a free proposal that asks you a variety of questions that include dates, number of days, budget and priorities.
Once you submit your questionnaire they’ll send you a proposal — there’s no commitment at this point, you have a week to decide ! ( your proposal will include flight dates & times)
If you like what they’re offering you can place your deposit and then you’re off on your way! If not you simply submit another questionnaire until you find something you like.
Once you’re booked you’ll start to get clues, packing list and weather reports.
