Floral, Fringe & Feathers Oh, My!
With the release of season 3 of Emily In Paris, it only seemed appropriate to choose some fun outfit inpso from each of the girls to inspire us coming into the spring!
The first thing to note is the evolution of Emily’s style. In the first season, we get a glimpse of Emily trying aspects of french style including scarves and bucket hats. In the second season Emily steps into her own with bolder colour choices and bold prints, especially florals, and to top it off in season three the evolution of Emily continues, with fun fringe, sequins, and tulle! The extravagance of the costuming continues as the season goes on when Emily leaves her life in the states behind and commits to life in Paris. We picked River Island, Mango, Zara, and Other Stories for most of Emily’s closet. Bold blazers, big accents like florals and bows, and of course a hint of sparkle to add a layer of glamour.
While Mindy is a fabulous character, her costuming is the least relatable to me but it’s still fun to explore her look. She’s always been a bit more eccentric from the start however, as we get into seasons two and three we see more and more colourful leather pieces, and the drama in her looks is elevated. For her closet, we added platforms, fun frills, and bright colour for daytime, and for evening club vibes we added some cheeky sheer pieces, glitter, and gloves matched with metallic boots. The majority of these pieces are from Zara, for fun fashionable, and affordable pieces.
Camille is the one whose closet I would most likely swap with as she has a true Parisien look, in the sense that the colour palette is still fairly neutral with pops of colour, but her drama comes from the play of textiles and accessories similar to Emily. We love how the embellishments of each out at a flare without having over-accessorize. With Camilles more elevated style we have pulled her closet items from Hudson’s Bay, Aritzia, &Other Stories with a few items from Zara.
While we didn’t pull exact looks from the show, (more drama = more $$$) Here’s what we would imagine being in their wardrobe if it wasn’t a film set. Whose wardrobe would you like to swap with?
