January Ipsy Bag - 2023

It’s finally February which means it’s time to unbox this January’s Ipsy Bag. This is the second attempt at posting this so I am keeping it short and sweet. The overall rating of this month’s bag is 2.5/5. While there were a couple of products I was happy about there were some that flopped.

To begin with the bag itself was underwhelming, rather than receiving the bag featured on the website and the social platforms, I received a green velvet bag that looks like it had been forgotten and leftover from previous years.

The first two products I was happy to have were Fresh, Honeysuckle Hand Cream and Half Caked Buffer Blush. One product I was looking forward to trying was the Milani Cosmetics Anti Gravity Mascara, however this fell short. To start I don’t love plastic bristles as I find them to be rough and not as even as soft bristles, so unfortunately this one has headed straight to the makeup graveyard.

The last two products include the Nars Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Dolce Vita and an Eyeliner by Reina Rebelde. I have enough lip products that instead of using this one, I simply plan on giving it away to someone who will use it. As for the eyeliner, I was disappointed as on my profile I say I rarely use this type of product however, they occasionally slip through the cracks so this on will also be in the gift pile.

In the two month review here’s what I am still using from October’s bag: I have consistently been using ELF’s Big Mood Mascara and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great high street option. Another product I used from October’s bag was I.T. Cosmetics Night Cream, while I already have plenty to use in my skincare kit, I like having a travel option nearby to toss in my bag. The final product I am still using from the October bag is Fenty Beauty’s Fat Water.

The two products that have fallen away are RealHer’s clear brow gel, nothing particularly wrong with it I just keep forgetting about it, the same way I forget about primer. As for the V Kosmetik Liquid Lipstick, it is still in the original packaging and will be added to the gift pile.

Now February is going to be interesting, I recently upgraded to the quarterly Glam X Box which includes 8 Full Size Products, and while I know all of them, I’m only sharing a few with you today. As for the Glam Bag, according to Ipsy as an annual member I should still receive the bag, however I have yet to get confirmation so it may just be the box…stay tuned!
