January Favourites - 2017
I can't believe we are at the end of January already!!
How are all your New Years ressies going? Good? Great! Mine have been a flop... well technically I just didn't make any, I find it much more motivating to set goals rather than make a list of things I can't do.
As you can tell somethings never change aka my babbling. Now onto the reason you're here! Monthly favourites.
Let's start with the home-y bits, Jan 1st was a kick start to refreshing my bedroom (surprise, surprise). With some of my Christmas money I decided to splurge at Homesense. Like most other girls in their 20's I'm a big fan of rose gold. I decided to pick up a rose gold rubbish bin and a beige wicker basic along with some clear makeup storage containers that were much needed, but my favourite purchase was actually from Plant in Calgary and believe it or not it's a plant! in a rose gold vase of course. π±
Now other things I do at home aside from organize, is eat, I enjoy food and over the Christmas holidays I indulged in lots of goodies especially wine and chocolate, I particularly like Pinot Noir and Milka chocolate bars. Believe it or not I do eat healthier foods as well, I sometimes even eat breakfast! Part of my News Years Resolution is doing be on a healthier diet, not by cutting foods out per say more or less taking care of it... by eating proper meals throughout the day. I've already spoken about this product quite a bit this month so I won't spend too long and that is Oatbox. Perfect for the not-so-keen breakfast eater. You can click here to find out more.
After a season of good eats I need to find something to cover up my #gainz and this season that has been my Acadia shirt from lululemon, it has a nice fitted top with a flowy bottom perfect to hide all those leftovers, so perfect in fact I bought it in black and white...oops. Another great option to flatter the not-so-beach- ready - body are Dresses they are one of my favourite things to wear over the summer, however living in such a chilly climate I don't get to wear them 3/4 of the year. Until now! ππΌ I finally bought some tights, I know nothing very special, but my legs feel the difference and because of that I can wear dresses all year long. Aside from the tights I did buy a dress from New Look via Asos. This is a nice simple cotton dress with cute flared sleeves. Perfect for Winter and Spring!
Other things I change during the winter season is up my skincare routine along with my perfume! I've been heavily relying on Drink Up nighttime face mask by Origins, to keep my skin from crackling like a little old lady. It says to put it on twice a week, or as needed. I have been putting it on close to daily because the cold is so harsh. To keep my face looking fresh throughout the day I've been loving YSL's Touche Γclat Foundation, this gives me a nice glow and hides part of the snowy brightness that is my skin. As for perfume I do quite enjoy a floral scent from spring and summer, however in the autumnal and winter season I prefer something warmer my usual favourite is Ghost however, this year I discovered Elizabeth and James perfume in the scent Bourbon. Now I switch between the two. You can buy the latter at Sephora.
And that's a wrap! All my January favourites rolled together.
See you at the end of feb! ... Well friday, just for a different topic. Haha
Thanks for reading,
Big Love, thebrokeblonde xo
PS. Also love top knots...that's not so much a monthly favourite that's more a forever and always type love.
