New In Beauty - January 2017
I recently downloaded the Influenster App. Which is a great resource to rate, comment, read and learn about new and exciting products or even just statisfy your curious mind as to wether or not a product is worth purchasing, it has everything from food, beauty, dog treats and entertainment. I personally track the beauty section a bit more than I do....let's say the video game section.
Anywho! At the beginning of January they posted an Article of 27 new releases that are happening this month, and as my wallet doesn't expand QUITE that far, I decide to pick 3 that peaked my interest.
This month I chose to do 2 Highstreet/Drugstore brands and 1 Luxury Brand.
Now I don't know if I just got lucky or if this usually happens but both highstreet products had promotions on (I'm thinking, new release promos, to get their products in consumers hands like yours truly).
But Hey overall I saved about $8, which is at least two coffees for this blondie xo.
The first product is L'Oreal's Hair Clay Mask, now over the past month I have noticed alot of pre-shampoos popping up, we shall see if they actually work. So far I like it, it's simple 5 minute mask you put on your wet roots before you shampoo, it's designed to help with oiliness. I don't have over oily hair, if anything it's on the drier side of things, however I do only try to wash my hair twice a week. Usually by day 3 it's getting a bit yucky so I wanted to test it out to see if it would make a difference. So far so good. I haven't noticed huge change, just enough that I'm not grabbing for my dry shampoo every 20 mins haha. This retails for $9.99 CAN (at shoppers drug mart), however I bought it for $5.
Next is Covergirl's Outlast Concealer in the shade fair (#810). This claims to instantly erase the appearance of dark circles and blemishes (worked for my circles). Oil free and won't clog pores (didn't pay attention tbh), soft touch applicator helps erase the appearance of dark circles... well I guess it's a good thing it covered my circles, because it's so important they mentioned it twice haha. I personally don't LOVE the applicator but it works when your in a pinch (aka in your car, parked of course). It did it's job however is still prefer my iT Cosmetics bye bye under eye more. Covergirl also did have a promo of $2 off any product, which I obviously used. This is usually $11.99 CAN I bought it for $9.99 (once again at shoppers drug mart).
Lastly is YSL's new Shock mascara. I chose this as my luxury product because I wanted to compare it to Too Faced's Better Than Sex Mascara. Too Faced currently has a special place in my heart however, I do find it flakes and I'm not a fan of that. There is almost a $10 difference between the two, YSL retails for $39 CAN and Too Faced is $30 both sold at Sephora, so the question is, is it worth it?! To me the answer is yes. Turns out you geta touch more product in the YSL bottle than you do with Too Faced, and it holds up better throughout the day. I put this bad boy to the test. My day started at 7:30 when I headed off to work, then I popped into a Spin class before heading home, it was close to 8pm before I had a chance to see the damage, that was my face, however I did ask a few people which eye they thought looked better and the answer was shocking...literally they chose Shock ( haha see what I did there, I made a joke.) I do still believe Too Faced does give a bit vmmp, (in english that word means volume) however, fallout doesn't look cute on anyone. Turns out if you are wanting to spend the money, go the extra mile and splurge on the newest YSL mascara.... If you want, I'm not the queen or anything, I'm just some rando with a keyboard. But hey you made it this far, so Thanks!
That's all for today, chat with you soon.
Feel free to give it a like, share or hey leave me a comment!!
