Winter Jilly Box - 2020

Well the weather is consistently below 0 and Christmas music is blasting out every speaker I walk by so that can only mean one thing…Winter is here, which means UNBOXING Time!

If you are unfamiliar with Jillian Harris, you are either not from Canada or you live under a rock. She is a beloved and well known Canadian icon and last winter she launched her very own subscription service, which sold out immediately, I should know I was on the waitlist to get into the website for over 8hours before realizing there was no way I was getting a box.

I was put into the lottery for the spring box, which I was selected for, and was given the option to be a continuous subscriber. We have now completed an entire year, and I do plan on continuing for the time being, although it is by far the most expensive subscription box I have signed up for, I do feel like it is the most valuable/useful. After this spring, I plan to have this as my sole subscription box to keep my budget on track.

Now into the goods:

Add-ons were available none of which I selected. The options included a boyfriend sweater in collaboration with Brunette The Label. If you want to order your cosy sweater from Brunette The Label you can use this code here JBJBW25 While cute, as much as I try I can’t rock the boyfriend/oversized sweater look, my shoulders disappear and I look like I’m swimming in fabric, so I took a pass. The other option was a set of masks.

There was a jewelry item which we were given the choice of silver, gold, or rose gold. I chose gold and glad I did. It is a beautiful watch in collaboration with Larsson & Jennings I do, however, need to find a way to get it tailored as I have slim wrists. This retails for $260.

Next is a cute home-y sign from the Cross Design, that says This is our Happy Place. This retails for $9.95.

As many of us are spending the majority of our time at home there’s nothing better to keep us cosy over the winter months than a gorgeous knit blanket in collaboration with Droplet. This retails for $185.

If brave enough to head out into the winter abyss the Jilly Box has a gorgeous white pom-pom toque from Joe Fresh. I know have a black, grey and white one…I think I’m set. This retails for $16.

The box also came with some very cute festive Father Christmas socks, from Friday Sock Co. perfect to keep or to gift this season. These retail for $18.

One of my favourite items, while simple — also delicious was a pack of Smart Sweets Swedish Fish, which I have already devoured. I secretly love how there always seems to be a snack in the box, perfect to munch on while unboxing and writing these posts.

The last item I will most likely be cracking into early next year, or at least after the holidays is the Detox Tea from Apothocary Tea. Sounds like the perfect thing to clear out all the junk I will be filling my body with over the Christmas break. This tea is caffeine-free and the box also included a strainer. The set retails for $68 (the tea is the 120 servings jar).

I did a rough estimate, retail cost of this box is $199+tax (ouch I know) but the value for this season is approximately $492 (before tax).

While the boxes are sold out, there are typically discount codes in the Jilly Warehouse or Jilly Market so you still have a chance to get the goodies inside!

What was your favourite item?
