Mother's Day Gift Guide
Hello Blondies,
Mother's Day is rapidly approaching, I know this year will look odd for most of us but I thought I would share with you some of my favourite things, most of which are local so you won’t have to wait on shipping!
I love a local products, and typically this time of year there’s the littlemodernmarket hosted in Calgary. Due to COVID they have brought it online and most vendors are offering a discount, if they are available as I am writing this I will share the code with you!
For the Coffee Lover Mum - A Mug from a local potter, Keramikk, A bag of your favourite coffee (Personal favourites is Blondies, Starbucks or Monogram). Along with Collagen or Coconut Creamer from WithinUs. To save on the Mug use code LMM2020. A great thing to pair with coffee is Chocolate and if you’re in the Edmonton area I would HIGHLY suggest grabbing some sweets from Jacek!
If you want to add a level of cosy you can add a Love For Lewiston sweater, to save 15% use LMM2020, or another personal favourite a Romper from Smash & Tess to save $10 use the link!
There’s no better pair to a romper than a cute scrunchie! If you have spent anytime over on my instagram account you’ll know that I am obessed with Roseling Handmade Scrunchies, I think I might just have one of each. She also has the promo code LMM2020 on all regular priced product in lieu of the little modern market. (*Edit Roseling Handmade is offering LOCAL PICKUP for you last minute shoppers!)
For the Mum who needs a break - this is not to say all mums don’t need a break and a little extra love especially THIS year but there are some mums who particularly love going to the spa getting the mani/pedis and while salons aren’t open (YET) there are a few things to pamper mum. A bath is always a great way to relax! But don’t forget about the salts and bubbles! I have been loving Surf Soak’s bath salts. I got my bag from the Jilly Box but you can but them online and they come in various sizes. They are based out of Vancouver, so not quite local but still Canadian!
Candles are always a win, my favourites are Milk Jar & NaturaSoy. Milk Jar is based here in Calgary and has the crackling wood wick which I love. NaturaSoy is based just outside of Calgary and has mouthwatering scents, my personal favourite is the London Fog. Saje Wellness also has soy based candles which I love, but I would also recommend their diffusers, and if I were to recommend a scent for this season it would be Bloom or House Warming. Bloom is more refreshing where as House Warming as a warmer, spicier tone. (*Edit Bloom is no longer available try Goddess instead)
Now that the candles are lit and the bath is run, time to soak in with a good book, the books on my current reading list are: Fair Play by Eve Rodsky, Bring the Joy by Jessica Janzen Olstad, Fight to Flourish by Jenni Lusko and Girl Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis.
While vacations may still be on hold you can still give mum the feel of vacation with a relaxing bath and a glow. The gift of Sunnatan will give her an organic tan making her feel like she’s just been on a sunny holiday!
For the Mum who likes to host - While most are still in isolation, nearing the end of the summer the hope is to be able to spend time in each other’s backyard, these next gifts will help mum take her hosting to the next level with a great bottle of wine (Quails Gate is my recommendation), New throw pillows from Indigo along with some planters and handmade signs from Inspired Findings. Pair that with Magnolia’s Cookbook or Butter Baked Goods and a Cookbook Stand from Primrose and you’re set! USE Promo code LMM2020 to save at Inspired Findings!
And if you’re really stuck for time order the Noelle Tray from Primrose so you can pop Mum’s breakfast on it with a vase a tulips and a pair of Hillberg and Berk Sparkle Balls you’ve saved the day!
I can’t wait to see how you celebrate your Mum this weekend,
Big Love, thebrokeblonde xo
