Spring Skincare Routine - 2019
Hello Blondies!
As of the New Year I have decided that it was about time that I quit splurging on makeup and use what is already on my vanity. That being said I realized I did not have a concrete skincare routine. All I had was my Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser…which will be on my counter until the day I die or the day they stop production, but that was it.
Now I am a big Caroline Hirons fan and she recenetly chatted about the new MyClarins routine and it spoke to me. Simple, easy and quick!
The Run Down: It is designed for younger skin (ages 18-29 as per the website) . They are 88% natural and vegan friendly! I would also add in affordable for a higher end brand. I went to an event hosted by Clarins and Shoppers Drugmart to try out and learn about their new products…this of course included me leaving with a whole new skincare routine.
What I bought:
Starting with the cleanser I bought the RE-Move Micellar Milk, it’s super gentle I have used this both AM and PM, the best part is you don’t need to rinse it off! Just a quick little cotton rub and you’re base is set. This retails for $23, and includes Moringa and Fig which helps eliminate pollutants and keep skin hydrates. There is also a purifying gel which I was giving in a trial size which is super light and helps eliminate impurities this one does require a quick rinse it also retails for $23.
The next step is the REFresh hydrating beauty mist. This also retails for $23…there seems to be a theme here ha! I do love how fine and even the mist is and just like the rest of the collection it smells lovely without being overpowering. This is a four man team which also includes Fig for hydration but also has Coconut to help feed the skin of lacking nutrients, Alpenrose to remove toxins and Acerola to leave you skin looking radiant.
Follwing the toner is RE-Boost Comforting Hydrating Cream, retails for $28. There are 3 variations depending on your skin type; Refreshing, Comforting and Mattifying. I went with the comforting as my skin is on the more dehyrated side and needs every extra ounce of moisture it can get! Not only does this cream smell divine it is also super thick and feels luxe on the skin. If you wanted to add a bit more to your routine you could also pick up the RE-Charge Relaxing Night Mask for $29.
The last item I picked up was the Pore-less Blur & Matte Stick. This smells so good it’s tempting to eat it…don’t. But truly it smells like strawberries. It comes in a tube that looks like a large lip balm which is great to toss in your handbag! This retails for $22 and includes Arbutus which helps matify and tighten the look of pores.
For a quick tally this new routine could cost you as little as $74 this could easily be the cost of one product from another line or if you decided to go all in $171 for the complete regime. I spent $96, but as I bought it from Shoppers Drugmart I also could earn or redeem points!
That’s all from me today, let me know if you’d like to see more collections like this. As I said before I am trying to use up what I have but if you have any recommendations for what I should try next feel free to leave it in the comments below!
Big Love, thebrokeblonde xo
