Fab Fit Fun Winter - 2018
Black Friday is over.
Christmas is over.
Boxing Day is over.
All the big shopping events are over and the gifts have been opened. Thankfully there is one more box waiting to be opened and that's the Winter FabFitFun Box. The value of my box this season is $314.00 USD. I signed up for the annual plan which allows be to pick certain products so items may vary between boxes. This is the final box in my plan before I decide whether or not renew my subscription. I also go some add-ons this month to spruce up my box, this includes false set of lashes from tarte and winter skin kit from Elemis. Before I jump into more detail about the add-ons I'll share the items that everyone will get in their boxes.
First off is Thrive Causemetics Brilliant Eye Brightener in Stella. This is a $24.00 USD value, the eye brightener comes in two shades, Stella (the one in the box), is a champagne gold and Aurora which is available online is a rose gold tone. Thrive is a company that gives a portion of their profits to help other women thrive. It is also vegan and 100% cruelty free, without parabens or sulfates. This eye brightener isn't a replacement for a concealer, it's more of a highlight and I use it in the corner of my eyes.
Next is Ahava Hydration Cream Mask. This is a $33.00USD value. This is made with Dead Sea Mud and designed to take care of dry skin along with brightening and clear. It is also loaded with Shea Butter and Vitamin E. The mask is also vegan, hypoallergenic and paraben free. This is perfect for those with busy schedules who still want to keep skincare as priority as it only takes 3mins or you can multi-task as leave it on overnight for more intense hydration. It cleanses deep enough to remove oils and environmental impurities.
Once your face mask in complete...or even while you're in the process of letting it settle in you can use BLAQ HydroGel Eye Mask simultaneously, talk about multi-tasking. In your box you will get a 5pack of these eye patches, which is a value of $29.00USD. These Hydro patches have activated charcoal which helps detox and depuff those tired eyes. Blaq is an Australian brand that designs their products around activated charcoal which draws out toxins and bacteria, along with minimal packaging and innovative products they are also cruelty free.
One of my favourite things to do while pampering, especially after the Christmas holiday's is turning on my diffuser or using essential oil. This box select members had the choice Anthropologie Mer Sea Beauty Coconut Sugar Sea Body Whip or Essential Oils from Way of Will, I chose the latter as I already have a large stockpile of lotions and potions. It came with the scents of Eucalyptus and Sweet Orange, perfect transition scents post Christmas, as Sweet Orange is often used on the temples to relieve headaches (aka screaming kids and critical inlaws?!) and on stomachs to relieve cramps (stuffed like a turkey?). While Eucalyptus is used for sore muscles (too much heavy lifting). This is a $31.00USD value and is available in other scents online. All Way of Will essential oils are 100% Pure Grade and No Artificial Colours, it also leaves no residue and is cruelty free.
Now there are two types of bears in the world, ones that love then snow and ones that avoid it. For the snow bears out there you may have picked the option for Bearpaw's headband and pop-top glove duo. While those who prefer to hibernate like yours truly, you can find soaking in the tub and listening to tunes or watching Netflix and enjoying a face mask. I chose to add another mask to the spa experience and that is Moroccan Gold Series, argan hair mask. This has a blend of keratin and argan oil which helps strengthen and seal spilt ends. All you need is 5 mins and a quick rinse, for 250ml this has a value of $49.00USD.
Once your day at home spa is over there's nothing better than cuddling up in a big ol blanket. In this month's box everyone will be getting a gorgeous Mark & Graham colourblock throw. The colours may vary between, white or beige. As select members you get to pick which colour you prefer, I chose white. This throw has a value of $49.00USD.
While wrapped up next to the fire the only thing missing from a throw and a cuppa hot chocolate, are cosy socks, and that's what's hiding next in the box. Richer Poorer over the knee socks are a value of $24.00USD and the ultimate completion to cosy winter essentials. Now not everyone will get this item there are a few more options available including a Jade Roller which has a value of $45.00 or Pur Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette which I believe is a $36.00 value (couldn't find the exact palette online).
There are a few more items left in the box and may I say I think I've saved the best for last. Next is the option for either a necklace from Lele Sadoughi ($49.00USD), Jewellery Portfolio by H Halston (48.00 USD) or Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo ($44.00USD). Although I don't wear a ton of jewellery but the necklace was to cute to pass up, and I don't have enough to need a portfolio, and I have used the Oribe Dry Shampoo and there are others I prefer.
Last but not least, honestly my favourite Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in the shade Meringue. This is a peachy-nude shade and is a value of $26.00 USD ($30.00 CAN available at sephora.com). This has a satin finish, and like all the other bite products I have this formula is super creamy and easy to apply. These products are handcrafted in a canadian facility (woot woot) and are made with natural and organic ingredients plus they are gluten free! If you didn't find this in your box you will find either Brooke Burke's Body Sliders or Chic & Tonic Coasters.
That is all for the box!
Time to do a quick run of what I added to my box. If you skimmed the first bit of the blog I will help you out and reiterate what add-ons are. These are products I purchase on top of the cost of the box and are typically highly discounted.
First is tarte's little black dress lashes, when I went onto tarte's website they were no longer available which is why I think I was able to get them for so cheap, $5 USD I believe it was. I am not one to usually false lashes but I thought for the Christmas holidays I could be a little extra, and yes I did use them, and I think they were fun to add a little pop. Like Tarte's other lashes these too are cruelty free.
I also bought Elemis' winter travel kit. This has a value of $114.00 USD! I bought it for $29.00 USD.
