October Faves
Winter has made itself known in Calgary, a bit earlier than I would like but nothing surprising. This past month I have been re-setting my skincare routine. There will be an upcoming skincare blog post where I will share with you my entire process. This month I will be featuring some of these items as they have been key players this month.
If maskne wasn’t enough the cold sure packed a punch. I ended up with two giant crators on either side of my cheeks this month that didn’t seem to want to move. I did some reasearch aka went to the queen of beauty, Caroline Hirons, and watched her video to find out what I should be using. The answer for my case was the Salicylic Acid, enter in Pixi Clarity Tonic. This tonic zapped those bad boys right up.
The cold snap we recently had also left my skin dry and shrively…attractive I know. Not like I’m kissing anyone but there’s nothing worst than dry crackly lips. I have been using Rodan + Fields Lip Serum and it has been a dream. My girl Kristyn sells Rodan + Fields and if you’re interested in learning more slide into her DM’s at bell_kristyn.
For the face I have been using Dermalogica’s Hydro Masque, Hylauronic Acid and Origin’s Drink Up Intensive Mask.
As for hand lotion I have been reaching for everything and anything so if you have any suggestions holler at ya girl!
While I am patiently waiting for my Winter subscriptions boxes I have been loving my earrings from So Pretty By Cara Cotter which were in my fall Jillybox. These are the honour studs which come in plenty of gorgeous colours, however if they aren’t your style there are plenty of other beautiful options.
October was a bit of a blur, not going to lie. Throughout September my office was organized, I was blogging on time and I was posting ootd. Then October hit, it felt like a bit of a hurricane. Laundry began to pile up, my workouts began to slide and my car ended up being a second closet. Nearing the end of the month I knew I needed to get control of the reigns. I plugged in to Mrs. Hinch book, watch her instagram stories and went on a hinch haul spree to re-organize my life. It feels so good to have a to-do list and a cleaning and tidy working space. Being a blogger things can get overwhelming quickly, you not only need to write the content and have beautiful pictures to match, you need creatives and a plan. Reminding myself little and often has helped me stay a float even after a big shoot day.
My sleep schedule is another thing I’ve been fighting with this month…well for a large portion of 2020, but hot lemon water has been a nice addition to my nightly routine especially in my new Village Pottery Jilly Mug. Another sleep aid I have been using is Sleep Well from Saje and Headspace’s Beachcomber which I used to use on my commute to Toronto, which you can find free on Youtube.
There you have it! October Favourites, looking forward to bringing out my Christmas items!
