Happy Piña Colada Day!
Hello Blondies!
If summer wasn’t already the best season, it just got that much sweeter…literally and while as much as I wish I could be sitting on the beach in Hawaii sipping on Piña Colada’s and Mai Tai’s all day long, sitting on the patio in my backyard isn’t so bad…especially when I get to play in the kitchen.
Just for fun I have made 4 variations of the Piña Colada.
First is the classic, which is simply, the ratio of 3:1:1, 3 oz of pineapple juice, 1 oz of coconut cream and 1oz of White rum…be careful not to switch these ratios around or you will end up with a very different flavour profile, trust me 1oz of white rum is enough. Blend with ice and ready to serve…unless you want to be fancy then add a garnish before serving.
Next is what I found to be the second sweetest of the bunch, really anything with the coconut cream is going to be sweet. You can buy this almost anywhere I believe I bought mine at Save-On Foods. All you need is 2oz of Pineapple Nutrl and 1oz of the Coconut Cream, you can either blend with ice or shake and pour over, I personally perfer the shake and pour over because I’m not a fan of crushed ice…just make sure its well incoorperated.
Next was probably my personal favourite and you will need Coconut LaCroix, Pineapple juice and Malibu Rum. This ratio is 1:1:1. Super simple give it a shake with ice, strain and pour over fresh Ice. You still get all the flavours without as much sweetnesst.
Finally the one I like to call low-cal, and by far the least like the original Piña Colada but still gives you that tropical flavour is Pineapple Nutrl and Coconut LaCroix, again equal parts give it some love and pour over Ice.
Cheers,
