Summer Box Unboxings!
Well Blondies,
I am still waiting for my Causebox to arrive but I figured I have kept you waiting long enough and I should just crack on and spill the deets on my current subscriptions which include: The Summer Jilly Box, Poppin’ Bottles Box, Quails Gate Summer Selection and Summer Causebox (whether I have it or not). And Bonus, the Experience Box from the Atelier (which is no longer available).
Starting with the most hyped box, the Jilly Box. This is a lottery box, but as I was selected for the Spring 2020 box I was able to select the option to be an continous subscriber. This box comes with quite a steep price tag at $170+ Add-Ons, however the box is valued at over $300. While unboxing I gathered that I would personally keep about 60% while the rest will most likely be used in giveaways of gifts…which I do with most of my subscriptions.
First up is the Dew It Headband, a bachelorette collaboration if there ever was one. While super cute I do plan on re-gifting this as I have plenty of headbands from Roseling Handmande. This retails for $38CAN and can still be bought from the Jilly Market and if you read this on the day it’s posted you will still be able to save 15% when you use DewJilly15.
Next is the Hayley Shady Lady Sunglasses, which I love, and many of you over on Instagram have already asked about them, while I got black frames if it was up to me I would have chosen the Tortoise Shell Frame. To save 30% on your own pair you can use the code JILLYBOX30. These Retail for $39.99 USD.
The third item was from Emma Allen Design who designed a variety of 5 Prints, I recieved the “Here Comes The Sun” print, while it’s a beautiful print there was a couple others ones that would have suited my decor a bit better so this too will end up in the re-gift pile. This is valued at $45, while this exact print isn’t available directly you are able to order the digital copy for you to print at home, this retails for $20 and you can also use the code THANKYOU15 if there are other prints you wish to order from Emma Allen, as it states on the Jilly Market it excludes the wedding stationary, but if you’re in the market for wedding stationary it’s worth a peek, it’s gorgeous!
Ah, Saje. I am always happy when I am giffted anything from Saje, if you don’t already know Saje is hands down one of my favourite brands and it is a DREAM of mine to one day work with them…anyways the product in this box was their Mud Glow Clay Mask, which retails for $30. Save 10% when you shop here!*
Coola Setting Spray is the next time in this box, I did receive this last summer I believe it was from FabFitFun, which I took to Hawaii with me, which my friend raved about, so I have decided to send it her way. This retails for $36 USD.
There were a couple other beach essentials in the box which included a towel from Tofino Towel Company, this collaboration is a smoky rose with off white details and retails for $55 to save 20% you can use the code jillybox2020 until August 30th. You can’t have a day out without beach snacks, this was a bag of Naked Snacks, which is already one of my favourite travel snacks. The pack given in this box was Hearty Tamari, which I demolished during one of my drives to the mountains, the right amount of kick…one of my faves from Naked Snacks is their Mexican Remix.
And of course, don’t forget a beach cover up, now if you are on the shorter side you could probably get away with wearing this as a cute linen summer dress…I howeve find it a bit short and if I had gone up a size it would have been too big for my shoulders. The Hamptons dress is available for purchase on the PRIV website…this retails for $119. You can use the code JILLYBOX20 to save 20% however this does not apply to the dress.
Onto add-ons, while I didn’t have to purchase this add-on it does require extra payments should you choose to use it, this is a $20 Credit for Fraiche Livings Meal Plan, 20% off the Jilly Market and Jilly Digital, which I will not be able to share these codes with you as they are not public.
Other Add-ons included Knix Limited Addition colour way in Watermelon, I bought the small and while I love the cut I am a bit of a mishmash of sizing so I probably would have benefited from ordering it through the Knix website but this was only available through the Jilly Box, if you however want the same swim suit, the Bondi, in a different colour you can use this link and save $15*.
Merry Mae earrings were the next add-on which I bought and love, very 60’s vibe! Perfect light blue and white for summer which compliments the pink linen dress. You can save 10% on your next purchase when you use the code JILLYBOX10, this also excludes the Retro Flowers.
The final Add On was the Sorry hat from CND, a brand based from Kelowna. This super cute light blue cap is one I regret adding to my box, I believe they are working on adding it to the shop and you can use the code, JILLYSUMMER to save 10% on your purchase, this does exclude the sorry hat.
And that’s a wrap on this seasons box!
Now onto a slightly more fun box… Poppin’ Bottles, just as it sounds, it includes a bottle of wine. Korkscrew Sparkling Rose to be exact. This box retails for $69 on a seasonal basis, or $59 annually, these prices are USD. I personally like giving everything a fair shake so I jumped right in with the annual subscritpion. Aside from the bottle of rosé, this box also came with 6 wine glass rings, in 3 styles, a wine stopper…but lets be honest who needs that?! Blue light glasses, which I use often epecially when I have days like today where I am starring at my screen for multiple hours at a time. Cocktail napkins with some cheeky sayings, while adorable I personally would have preffered it if they had come in some sort of packaging (sorry environmentalists…recyclable box?) so that the napkins weren’t creased when they arrived. Korkscrewed book, and socks. I will be enjoying the rosé while reading the book, but as for the socks and wine charms, they maybe re-gifted as a cute galentines gift. The wine retails for $17.95, and the book retails for $24.74 as for the rest of the items they are custom to the box…or so I can see.
Quails Gate Summer Wine… there are many different varitals of the box depending on your grape preference. I have choosen the 6 box mix, I don’t typically share with you this subscription but as I am venturing more into food & drink on my blog I figured I would start to share more with you. Here’s what was in the shipment: BVM Riesling '19 Bottle which retails for 36.99, Chardonnay '17 Bottle $22.99, Lucy's Rose '19 Bottle $26.99, QG Old Vines Foch '17 $25.99, The Allison '17 Bottle $24.99 and Pinot Noir '17 Bottle $51.99. My Personal favourite is the Pinot Noir, however it’s the Foch Reserve that got me hooked on Quails Gate to begin with, if you sign up to be a member you are able to save %15 on your orders and you can get tickets to exclusive events. While I wish I could be in Kelowna now I am hoping to squeeze in a trip during their fall launch, as it’s also a good excuse to celebrate my birthday.
