Beach Day Outfit

Summer is here, and I’m all for cute floral dresses and daisy dukes, but Lake days are my favourite days. Where the warm sun hits early as you sip your coffee before your first brisk dip in the still water, in your favourite worn-out sweater you’ve had since high school.

As the day warms up, of course you re-apply your SPF… because skincare is key. But apart from that, you need some sun-day essentials.

I love being trendy, but I still can’t bring myself around to dropping hundreds of dollars on designer slides and shades, it’s because I know the chances of something getting lost or tossed is quite high when I’m around friends…maybe we should make that a summer resolution. “Leave with the same number of luggage and limbs, as we arrived with”. We’re not that rowdy, I promise. We’re usually in bed as the sun goes down ready for another full summer day.

Here are some of my favourite pieces this summer. Something to note these prices listed are Canadian, so depending you where you live, the products may be cheaper (lucky you) or they may no longer be available.

To begin with, The Mosana Square Sunnies have been a popular topic this summer, I’ve had so many compliments on them and they have multiple colour options, I bought the two-pack in black and neutral.

They are currently on a further reduction than the price posted above, for prime day! If the price happens to increase you can always add it to your cart for later, and Amazon will let you know if there is a price increase or reduction while it’s in your cart if you leave it for a little while.

When it comes to catching rays, I love a cute bikini, but when I’m near the water I like to partake in as many water activities as possible, and the last thing I want to be concerned about is my bottoms flying off while I’m catching air on the tube. This cute stripey one-piece from Joe Fresh is a bit out of my comfort zone as I typically reach for neutrals…mainly black, but from time to time you need to have fun! It was originally $39 but on sale for $31.94 to make things sweeter, you can sign up for Rakuten can get CASH BACK! The percentage of cashback you get on the purchase depends on which store you’re shopping at and what they’re currently offering.

At the moment Joe Fresh is offering 2% cash back, which is only $0.63 on the swimsuit, HOWEVER!! For a limited time when you sign up, and spend $30 (or more) you get a cheque for $30 back…making this swimsuit cost you $1.31 (+taxes and shipping). And before you ask, yes you can redeem/earn PC points while you shop online at Joe Fresh.

Last but not least, we all need a good pair of summer slides, I used to wear the Adidas slides with the acupressure bubbles underfoot, and I still have them somewhere but I find I can’t wear them for too long without my feet getting sore, so I picked up these cute slides from Call it Spring, now I’m not going to lie they took a couple of wears to break in but I love traveling with them because they can suit any occasion. They are still full price at $39.99 but I’m sure you’ll get your money’s worth as you wear them throughout the rest of the summer, and if you want to save a little bit you can always sign up for their emails to collect 15% off.
