December Favourites - 2020

The long awaited Favourites list is here at last…ok that may be a touch dramatic this isn’t a Shonda Rhimes episode after all.

December was a bit of a gongshow in many ways, not only completing papers, projects and porfolios left right and center my somewhat of a healthy diet took the nearest off ramp met with mounds of chocolate and treats. But not to worry that’s what January, New Year’s and Mondays are for right? To hit the reset.

But before I rant on too long let’s get into the goodness that is December faves. To begin, if you’re in Calgary or even Alberta for that fact we have lucked out with a mild winter so far (knocking on my wooden desk as I type). I have really enjoyed being able to go for walks, skates and even have a family bon fire.

I also treated myself to a delicious takeaway from Brigette bar, and watched plenty of Christmas Movies including of course: Home Alone, the Holiday and Love Actually. My favourite movie snack is popcorn but over Christmas the snack game gets elevated to an assortment of meats, cheeses, crackers and pickles.

Hot Chocolate is one of my guilty pleasures, especially luxury hot chocolate from Whittards in the UK while I was unable to go back this year, I did manage to place an order before all the delays so I have been alternating between, Turkish Delight, Sticky Toffee and my favourite Orange.

As for beauty products, I haven’t been using much since the beginning of December when all my classes ended and the video was turned off #blessed. I did replenish my Rodan + Fields lip serum…but I can’t remember if that was November or December so I’m including it here.

Now that the semester has come to a close I am finally able to start reading some books I have been wanting to finish since Oct/Nov. I have read All about Us by Tom Ellen, it was a $3.99 buy on IBooks, cute little Christmas chick-flick. I am also reading Didn’t see that coming by Rachel Hollis, Rising Strong by Brene Brown and just started Circle Maker by Mark Batterson. I have completed listening to Relationship Goals by Mike Todd, You’re the Girl for the Job by Jess Connolly and now listening too Atomic Habits by James Clear which was on my 2020 Bookclub list, but I never got around to it — here’s to better luck and more discipline in 2021.

That’s all for monthly favourites, I know it’s not all that thrilling but I am trying out new products as we speak so hopefully there is more to come in January!
