Quarantine Hair, Don’t Care
Hello Blondies…If I can even call you that at this stage!
Thankfully here in Calgary salons are opening up this week, but over the past 10 weeks we have all been forced to show our true colours. I call myself lucky because I got my hair done the last week of February so I am just in need for a trim and a touch up and with the help of the sun it has been able to keep the blonde going natutrally for a bit longer.
While still waiting to get into see my stylist, I thought I would share with you some of my favourite products and tools I have been using.
Scrunchies, if you didn’t know already I am OBESSED with scrunchies, ironically 3 years ago when these were first re-surfacing I RESFUSED to wear them because I didn’t want to feel like I was six again, how times have changed. If I could I would have my own line of these suckers…I am speaking it out into the universe because never say never. My favourites are Roseling Handmade which are from a designer in Calgary!
I also love my invisibobble hair ties as they don’t pull out hair, those fall out enough on their own. I also love using my WetBrush post shower to get rid of any knots and tangles. While I loved my GHD’s while they were living I have yet to replace them directly, I still use a flat iron to give my curls but it’s not the same. However, I have found something I LOVE, I started using about mid-january and it gives me the perfect at home blow out and that is the REVLON One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer Hot Air Brush.
As for hair products I love Redken NBD cream which is perfect for the days I just don’t feel like doing anything with my hair aside from throwing it up into a bun because let’s be honest as of late I’ve got no where to go! The one thing I love about this is that it’s super light and doesn’t weigh down my hair.
For the longest time I felt that hairstylists were just trying to upsell you prodcuts that they were selling in the Salon until I met Justin from Mane at a photoshoot, as he was doing my hair he went into great detail of what my hair needed and the products he was using and why, he gave me two to take home and try. Ever since I have trusted him with my hair and colour, and 5 years later I walk in and he does his magic, and we have conversations about new products and what would work, what I already have and if I need something different which I love. Again he has never strayed me wrong and this cream is no exception, before Redken NBD I was using Mythic Oil which smells fantastic but it is a little heavier which is why the switch was recommended.
I have non shamfully been using dry shampoo as most probably have, I have used Batiste for ages so I have no plans on changing anytime soon. I have been using Drybar’s Southern Belle for extra volume and Prep Rally detangler. A Drybar honourable mention that I have used in the past is the Mai Tai Spritzer…can’t wait for the day I can head back to Hawaii! I also love Ouai’s retexturing spray and leave-in conditioner.
I think that’s all I use in my hair for the time being, oh shampoo and conditioner!
I loved using the L’Oreal Professionel Biotin duo, however during quarantine I have run out, I was going to buy another set or try the new Redken line but then I got an email from Influenster saying I was being sent the new Head & Shoulders Hydrating duo with coconut and that was good enough for me I’ll take free over $100 anyday!
Ok, now that’s all! See you on Friday!
