Rviita
As the years have gone on I have made a conscious effort to share and showcase some of my favourite brands along with their story. At this stage in the game, while my following is still under the general “threshold” (10k followers) my approach is relationship forward.
When I come across a company or brand that interests me or reaches out to me the first thing I do is find their story and discover their “WHY”. I, by nature am a story teller so when I come across a compelling story, I want to share it with everyone I know.
Earlier this year I changed my emails to fit this module, I love introducing my audience to new creatives, business owners and game changers.
If you haven’t already I would recommend signing up but hey I’m bias. If you have happened to miss the last few emails let me introduce them to you now: Jessica Janzen, Lavish Canvas, Inspired Findings and this month’s spotlight: Rviita.
I briefly mentioned them in my last monthly favourites and this month’s email.
Being a flight attendant, although currently grounded, I relied heavily on caffeine and energy drinks…. I know, I know terrible (but tasty) but terrible. Ironically I try to eat fairly healthy, but caffeine is my kryptonite. One day, I was busy scrolling and came upon Rviita I was intrigued to say the least! Reading through their story, something clicked, I NEEDED to try this drink. It seemed like some sort of magic potion. At this time they were only in certain locations so of course I made my friend go on a trek with me around the city to hunt them down…they were obviously popular considering it took us a few stops to finally find them!
I bought both flavours to give them a try, while Berry Divine was good, I have a strong bias towards Blackberry so Midnight was the clear winner. A couple of weeks later I picked up another pouch to take with me as I hiked Sulphur Mountain, which I enjoyed at the top and gave me that extra boost to make great time down…that and the fact my friend needed to pee so we practically ran the last 4 switchbacks HA!
While taking a deeper look into the company, I really connected with their values, Faith, Fitness, Family & Freedom. If you have been following me for any period of time or at least creeped my social (no judgement) my faith is what anchors me and most of my decisions, we all get a little off track from time to time. Fitness, especially during this COVID season has been a way to keep me motivated and energised to keep working towards my goals. Family is of course everything, it’s safe to say 2020 has kicked me in the shins multiple times but having Family game night every Sunday has brought a deeper connection and many more laughs than I would have initially imagined. Freedom! I have never been one for a 9-5, and I love my job and enjoy the flexibility it gives me to explore, write and create, and I hope to make this my forever lifestyle.
As a revolutionary company I reached out to learn more, while the initial spark of the idea and conception is shared on their website, there was something different about their delivery. They were in pouches!
The reponse was friendly and informative, it’s easy to see that they care about the consumer. The reason they chose pouches was because aluminum and glass uses much more material and tend to use a lot more carbon and energy to produce, along with being much heavier. Not only are these pouches much lighter (hooray!), they are also fully recycleable. Not only are they delicious cold, they make great slushies when frozen…as it is a screw top you can also re-use them as an ice pack later as well. When developping new flavours they try and make it as local as possible, although not always fesible they do their best including using strawberries from BC to create their strawberry juice.
As I am typing this they have recently launched two new flavours, Speachless and Royal. No that is not a spelling error Speachless is a peach green tea flavour and Royal is Elderberry. Honestly I was curious to see how they could top the first two but somehow they knocked it out of the park. I can’t wait to see what else they come up with … perhaps if I put it out in the universe we might see a Pear or Grapefruit in the future (although grapefruits are hard to grow in Canada!).
Let me know in the comments what you’re favourite flavour is and what you’d like to see!
